The first baby is born and becomes the whole world and when the second comes we say “look baby this is the most wonderful thing to ever happen to you because you’ll never be alone” but there are only two hours between daycare and bedtime and the new baby needs one and three quarters of them until it is time to chase and follow and hug the first one and be praised for their warmth while we say “baby there is your hero and protector and friend” and the first baby watches and tries to be good until it’s time to show the second baby what it feels like to be alone in the two hours between daycare and bedtime.
