Here are three shoes that I recently spiffed up. Shoe 1 and shoe 3 are actually the shoes of one of my employees. I spent entirely too much time thinking about the boss/employee power dynamics involved in polishing an employee's shoes. Of course he isn't going to tell me if I did a poor job on his shoes because he thinks I can fire him. I don't know if he knows that I can't fire him although I suppose I could put in a strongly worded letter against him. Not that I would because I think he is doing an adequate job. I got a little stressed about the whole thing and I was about to buy him a whole new pair of shoes, but then I thought I am way over-thinking this. Anyway, he keeps bringing me more shoes to dye and reshine. That's what qualifies for art for me these days.
